moving day is Saturday, October 21 (3 weeks before my due date).Â

 Neat things about our house: It’s got lots of space. Almost 2200 square feet over 2 floors (main floor and basement). The basement is full height (so my husband doesn’t have to duck his head – he’s 6ft 6inches ; and I can use my treadmill down there). 5 bedrooms plus other rooms that could be developed (enough space to have a bedroom for everyone, an office, toy room, and exercise room). Large open floor plan living room/dining room. Big windows. 9ft ceilings on main floor. Heated veranda/porch with lots of large windows and french doors opening into the rest of the house. 2 bathrooms. Side entrance opening onto basement and main floor (door separating basement from main floor)- we could develop the basement for my husband’s business so clients could meet with him and have a private entrance away from the rest of the house; we could develop a reception/den area and have my husband’s office in a separate room off to the side. A long time ago, someone lived in the attic (there’s vinyl flooring and drywall up there) – we could develop this and use it as another room.

 When we first saw the house, my husband could see all the potential (and I could see ‘work’). I am intimidated by the thought of renovations (I’ve never done them before) and I prefer to have everything done for me ahead of time so I can just move in. But a friend got me thinking when she said, “now you can make the house how YOU want it”. So I started dreaming (and my husband thinks he’s created a monster). Of course, as usual, I don’t necessarily think of the simple things we could do. When I found out about the attic, I started envisioning a den with skylights and then, hey, why not knock out the ceiling above the living room/dining room and have vaulted ceilings with skylights. I have no idea how much time, labour, money this would take, but it can’t be too hard, right? lol. I am so naive. For right now, we’ll just move in and prepare for a baby. Then we’ll see where things take us.  My husband is really excited and I’m getting excited, too. It’s a new adventure and another step in our lives together.Â

 We have bought a house! We signed the papers on Monday to make it official. Possession date is October 18;
