I’m sitting in\u00c2\u00a0the veranda of our new home in the ‘blogging chair’ (my husband’s name for it).\u00c2\u00a0 It’s a nice spot.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s separated from the rest of the house by french doors and there’s lots of windows looking out on three different sides.\u00c2\u00a0 The house wouldn’t have been my first choice (it’s old and has lots of wood on the walls), but it grows on me more and more each day.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Even the wood is growing on me.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Although most parts of the house are still in a semi-state of chaos and\u00c2\u00a0most of it\u00c2\u00a0left to be unpacked, it’s already beginning to feel like home.<\/p>\n
\u00c2\u00a0Today was generally low-key.\u00c2\u00a0 Matthew, our six year old even put himself down for a nap in the afternoon.\u00c2\u00a0 We’ve been going pretty hard for the past two weeks\u00c2\u00a0(as we didn’t rest last weekend with all the moving) and it was due time for a rest.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00c2\u00a0I also worked quite a lot of overtime at work this week just to get everything in place for the person replacing me (my last day was Friday).\u00c2\u00a0 I am now on maternity leave and it\u00c2\u00a0feels so good to be done.\u00c2\u00a0 I feel a great sense of accomplishment looking back at the past\u00c2\u00a0few months.\u00c2\u00a0 I was able to\u00c2\u00a0manage\u00c2\u00a0the busy ‘wedding season’,\u00c2\u00a0basically single-handedly.\u00c2\u00a0 Plus train new staff on top of it.\u00c2\u00a0 I feel like I’m leaving the other catering consultants equipped to do their jobs even though they only have a few months experience\u00c2\u00a0doing catering.<\/p>\n
I realize I love training people.\u00c2\u00a0 If I can help them do their job better, it makes me feel very good.\u00c2\u00a0 God’s\u00c2\u00a0been teaching me more about myself through this, but I’ll write more on that later.<\/p>\n
God is\u00c2\u00a0very gracious.\u00c2\u00a0 Change is generally very difficult for me – I need lots of time to process.\u00c2\u00a0 We’ve moved\u00c2\u00a0(after being in the same home for 7 1\/2 years), I’m going to have a baby in a few weeks, and I just finished work.\u00c2\u00a0 But what I feel right now is peace.\u00c2\u00a0 I might have felt a bit stressed about getting everything in order for work, but I don’t feel stressed about the move or the fact that nothing is ready for the baby yet.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m just going to take it easy and enjoy my time off.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
