This week was the first week of my mat leave (well, sort of, I’ve got 2 weeks of holidays\/days owed, so ‘technically’ my mat leave does not start until November 13).\u00c2\u00a0 It was a good week, though still fairly busy.<\/p>\n
We transitioned the boys to a new school (we had promised them they could stay at their old school until the end of October).\u00c2\u00a0 There were farewell parties at the old school and registration at the new school.\u00c2\u00a0 Things are going well with the transition.\u00c2\u00a0 We thought it might be difficult for our oldest boy (change is\u00c2\u00a0not easy for him), but he seems to be adjusting.\u00c2\u00a0 I think it is helping that I am home, so he can come home for lunch and he can come home once school’s out for the day instead of having to stay at an after school program.<\/p>\n
Wednesday was full of appointments and other engagements.\u00c2\u00a0 I saw my doctor – the baby’s head is down and\u00c2\u00a0ready to go any day now; I’m less than 10 days from my due date (November 14).\u00c2\u00a0 But nothing is happening so far – no braxton-hicks or false labour.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
My husband and I were contemplating why my first two boys were late and I had to be induced.\u00c2\u00a0 Here’s our theory: Boy #1> he doesn’t like change, so he would rather have stayed in the womb.\u00c2\u00a0 Boy #2> he doesn’t like to work; going through labour and delivery is work, and then once outside the womb, he’d have to work to get food rather than being fed through the umbilical cord, so he would have rather stayed where he was.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, a good friend<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0came over and helped me do some sorting and unpacking.\u00c2\u00a0 On Friday, I spent the morning with CWG’s<\/a> wife, and had hot chocolate and snacks waiting for the kids when they came home from school in the afternoon.\u00c2\u00a0 That was fun.<\/p>\n \u00c2\u00a0I’m enjoying staying at home.\u00c2\u00a0 There’s things like having snacks for the kids when they get home and stuff that I never could do before.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0People who are stay-at-home moms might take these\u00c2\u00a0things for granted, but when you’ve been working full time for several years, these things, though simple,\u00c2\u00a0mean a lot.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
