I’ve been asked this question a lot since my daughter was born in November.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0So far she’s not that much different than a baby boy.\u00c2\u00a0 She eats, she sleeps, she smiles.\u00c2\u00a0 She looks like a baby, which means at this point\u00c2\u00a0she could pass as a girl or a boy.\u00c2\u00a0 The only thing that’s different so far is what you\u00c2\u00a0do when you’re changing her diaper.\u00c2\u00a0 So to answer the title of this post, “I don’t know.\u00c2\u00a0 I’ve never had a girl before.”\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
I find myself paying more attention to little girls now.\u00c2\u00a0 I’ve been asking myself questions like ‘What are they like?’\u00c2\u00a0 ‘What do they do?’\u00c2\u00a0 ‘How do they act?’\u00c2\u00a0 It seems ironic that I’m wondering what little girls are like considering that I was once a little girl.\u00c2\u00a0 I liked to play with dolls and I liked to explore and build forts and houses out of old appliance boxes.\u00c2\u00a0 But as I grew I became less and less like a little girl and tried to be more and more like a boy.\u00c2\u00a0 I was trying to live up to expectations I perceived my father had of me.\u00c2\u00a0 I thought he wanted a boy so I tried to be like one.<\/p>\n
