Do you ever just WANT to be mad at your kids?\u00c2\u00a0 After they’ve been rude, disrespectful, called you names – basically been downright mean?\u00c2\u00a0 After all you’ve done for them -\u00c2\u00a0make meals, buy them clothes, pay the bills, give them a place to sleep, love\u00c2\u00a0them over and over again\u00c2\u00a0– and this is how they treat you!\u00c2\u00a0 Its almost as if for all your kindness they spit in your face…<\/p>\n
Spit in your face.\u00c2\u00a0 I was thinking about that today.\u00c2\u00a0 I was reminded of another person who went through something similar.\u00c2\u00a0 The guards spit in His face.\u00c2\u00a0 And what did He do?\u00c2\u00a0 After all they had done to him, he said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing.”<\/p>\n
Wow.\u00c2\u00a0 I can’t do that.\u00c2\u00a0 There are days I want to stay mad at my kids.\u00c2\u00a0 I want them to feel miserable because they’ve made me feel miserable.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I want them to have sorrow\u00c2\u00a0for all the verbal garbage\u00c2\u00a0they’ve flung at me.\u00c2\u00a0 I need God to remind me that they really don’t know what they’re doing.\u00c2\u00a0 I need God’s power to be able to forgive them\u00c2\u00a0and love them even though I may not get anything in return.\u00c2\u00a0 That takes supernatural strength.\u00c2\u00a0 Something that without God, I don’t have.<\/p>\n
