{"id":232,"date":"2008-01-16T23:15:55","date_gmt":"2008-01-17T05:15:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/songofjoy.ca\/?p=293"},"modified":"2008-01-16T23:15:55","modified_gmt":"2008-01-17T05:15:55","slug":"profound-statement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/songofjoy.ca\/?p=232","title":{"rendered":"Profound statement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just started reading a book called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Furious-Pursuit-Why-Will-Never\/dp\/1400071496\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Furious Pursuit: Why God Will Never Let You Go&#8221;<\/a> by Tim King &amp; Frank Martin and I ran across this passage that really made me stop and think:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What would happen if you woke up tomorrow morning and flipped on the news only to learn that God had just announced that everyone on earth was saved?&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you knew for certain that no one would end up in hell, would you still tell people about Jesus?  Would you still have a compelling message to share?  Would you have any motivation to try to reach those who don&#8217;t know God?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If everyone on earth were saved, what could you say about God that might still appeal to people?  Would you have enough of a relationship with God to talk passionately about his love and mercy?
