So on Wednesday, we headed off for a long-anticipated vacation.\u00a0 There were a few hiccups and we ended up leaving several hours later than we had planned, but we were finally on the road.<\/p>\n
It was a glorious drive.\u00a0 I saw so much wildlife – a fox, a meadowlark (which I saw AND heard when we stopped for supper at the side of the road – I miss the sound of meadowlarks), a badger, a coyote, a few deer, hawks, a great-blue heron, even a mouse.\u00a0 PLUS I got to see the most awesome sunset!\u00a0 At one point part of the entire sky was orange!\u00a0 We drove in between two thunderstorms for a while and got to see some lightning.<\/p>\n
It was so good.\u00a0 I have been so looking forward to this holiday.\u00a0 It’s the first real road trip we’ve been on and I’m loving it.\u00a0 There have been times when the kids and fatigue have pushed my limits, but all in all, it’s been very good so far.<\/p>\n
