I see ‘church culture’ in one form as something (structures, processes, attitudes) that is unique to the majority of North American evangelical churches.\u00c2\u00a0 I see it as something that is probably\u00c2\u00a0not directly biblical but\u00c2\u00a0has become so much a part of\u00c2\u00a0our concept of ‘church’ that we almost believe that without it, we are\u00c2\u00a0lacking in our spiritual walk with God.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
As I’ve been thinking about what the essence of the Gospel is, I’ve also felt it necessary to examine\u00c2\u00a0common church structures.\u00c2\u00a0 What things that are a part of ‘church’ are simply ‘church culture’ and not necessarily what is laid out in the Bible as a process or structure to model?\u00c2\u00a0 Some of the things I find myself examining are: Sunday School and the Sunday morning sermon.\u00c2\u00a0 Are these biblical models?\u00c2\u00a0 And if not, where did they come from?\u00c2\u00a0 What is the history behind them?\u00c2\u00a0 Are there other (and possibly better) alternatives?\u00c2\u00a0 I’ll post more as I dig\u00c2\u00a0deeper into this.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
