<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gandalf<\/strong><\/em> (Lord of the Rings<\/span> and The Hobbit<\/span>): willing to sacrifice himself for others, wise, compassionate, plus he’s a wizard!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n President Josiah “Jed” Bartlett<\/strong><\/em> (The West Wing<\/em>): really smart, holds to a high moral standard, caring & compassionate<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Han Solo<\/em><\/strong> (Star Wars<\/em>): a rogue, but does the right thing in the end<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Captain Malcolm Reynolds “Mal” <\/strong> <\/em>(Firefly, Serenity<\/em>): I love this character – has a sense of ‘family’, is loyal to his own; his interaction with the other characters in the show is absolutely hilarious at times; one of my favorite quotes is “I aim to misbehave”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Commander William “Bill” Adama<\/strong><\/em> (Battlestar Galactica, <\/em>re-imagined series): strong, brave, loyal, wise, caring, compassionate, open to letting his mind be changed, and the list goes on<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Captain Kara Thrace “Starbuck”<\/strong><\/em> (Battlestar Galactica, re-imagined series): a complex character, she’s tough and really talented but broken & messed up; she does the wrong things and hurts the people she cares about; and yet I think deep down in her heart she wants to do the right thing; she’s looking for a father’s approval (something I can relate to); and in the end she does the right thing; the way I see it, she receives grace in the midst of her brokenness and I like that part of her story<\/p>\n![\"AnneShirley\"](\"http:\/\/songofjoy.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/AnneShirley.jpg\")
