So I was wondering what ‘fun’ thing I could do this evening and I realized I had just read 2 chapters of Harry Potter with my middle son. I mentioned yesterday that we read through The Lord of the Rings last year. We’ve also read through the Chronicles of Prydain, the Madeline L’Engle Wrinkle in Time series and The Hunger Games series. Although we’ve both read the Harry Potter series we’ve never read it through together so that’s what we’re doing now. I really love reading to my kids. It’s probably the drama\/actress side of me – I love trying to put different voices to characters and ‘acting out’ the books through the spoken word. It’s so much fun!<\/p>\n
Then this evening my husband & I decided to try watching a new (to us) TV series through Netflix: “Flash Forward”. We watched a couple of episodes tonight and it’s not bad. I really enjoy plowing through TV series with my husband. I remember the first time we watched the new Battlestar Galactica. The series had already been out for a year and a half when we started watching it and we’d watch 4 episodes a night to get caught up. It was so good. I’m really glad we started watching the show late in the game because when the season 1 cliffhanger happened we just ran down to the rental store and picked up season 2 and kept going. It would have been excruciating if we had had to wait months to know what happened. Unfortunately there haven’t been any recent TV series that we’ve both enjoyed (like Firefly or Jericho). Hopefully Flash Forward will help fill the void for a while.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
