(taken from observations of my youngest son)
There are times when Matthew will come up to me and say, ‘I love you. You’re the best mom in the whole world.’, or he’ll say, ‘Do you know how much I love you?… This much.’ (as he stretches his arms as far apart as he can get them). As his mother, do I stand back (with my nose in the air) and say, ‘I receive your adoration. Thank you.’? No! I rush to give him a hug and tell him I love him and that he’s great. I think God’s the same way with us. He’s our heavenly Father and when we worship him, telling Him we love Him and that He’s great, I believe He wants to rush to extend His love back to us.
However, if Matthew did not really mean what he was saying and if the only reason he was saying those things was to get something from me, I would know the difference and would respond to him quite differently. Maybe that’s why Jesus said that God is seeking those worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Maybe when we worship in spirit and in truth, God is able to interact with us on a deeper level.
wow, thanks. That totally make sense, good analogy. I connect real well with analogy’s, it makes things clearer for me. Little Matthew’s so cute!
Blessings.
Thanks for sharing this. Very reminding.
Great post, really love honesty and truth!
that’s a great picture, I like that
LOL everytime that I come on here I keep reading “Worship is an altercation”. Matter of perspective I guess. Looking forward to getting together with you and your family over the holidays.
Are you gonna water this thing any time soon?
