As I’ve mentioned before I like to take pictures. Other than a half day class for beginners I haven’t taken any formal training. But I’d like to learn more. A little over a year ago I bought myself a dSLR camera and I’ve enjoyed using it but I know there’s so much more I don’t know that if I did I could have even more fun with my camera. Last Christmas my boys bought me a book on dSLR’s and photography but I didn’t get very far into reading it. I was reminded of the book again last week and tonight I picked it up and started to read it again.
I learned something new tonight – the histogram on my camera (a sort of graph that appears) indicates how light is exposed for the image. If the graph (sort of bell curve) is in the middle the image is properly exposed. If the curve is shifted over to the right with part of the curve being cut off the image is overexposed; if the curve is shifted to the left the image is underexposed.
Hopefully I’ll be able to learn more in the coming months so I can have even more fun with my camera.
