Let me start off by saying that Baking is generally not ‘fun’ for me – it’s time consuming and it makes a big mess which I have to clean up afterwards. It’s much simpler to let Costco be my bakery.
But…today I made butter tarts and it was kind of fun. For one thing I didn’t have to mess around with the pastry (thank you, Costco, for frozen tart shells!). It was something I hadn’t made before, it was easy to do, and they turned out pretty good. It’s also fun to see my family enjoying them. They don’t get homemade baking very often so when they do they appreciate it.
I also spent a lot of time playing Christmas music on the piano today and that was a lot of fun (although I’ve mentioned this as one of my ‘fun’ things before).
