Someone replied to an email I had sent out and they had their email signature at the bottom of their email. I’ve got an email signature on my work email, but not on my personal email. What would I have as a personal email signature? Here’s my first try: “Carol Tebay mother of 3, wife of LT, happily content to be… ME” A little silly, but oh well.
Life has been busy. It feels like I haven’t stopped to rest in while (though I did a bit of that today). We’re insulating our home to take advantage of rebates with the EnerGuide program – a few weeks ago we insulated our attic; this week Leighton insulated our main floor (using spray foam insulation injected into the wall cavities); we are still going to insulate the floor and attic […] Read More
I grew up in a family that would debate about politics whenever we’d get together. I had no interest in it and all their arguing and complaining about the government probably lent to an indifferent attitude towards the whole thing. But now I happen to be married to someone who loves politics, takes an active interest in it, and has actually volunteered for political parties in the past (ugh! I […] Read More
I have a little girl. She will be 2 years old in November. When she was first born, there were many people who asked me, “What’s it like having a girl?” (as opposed to the two boys I had already given birth to). It seemed a pretty silly question at the time, because for the first year of life, a baby is basically a baby, whether male or female. They […] Read More
My room…my retreat…my hide-from-the-kids room… the walls are painted, I have a rug on the floor, a table in the corner with candles, a CD player playing soothing music, a rocking chair with ottoman I’m loving my room. I love the color of the walls illuminated by candle light. I’m not posting any pictures yet. There’s still a few things I’m waiting for before the room will be complete (mostly […] Read More
I just finished reading the book “Flight of the Dragonfly” by Melissa Hawach. It’s the true story/autobiography of a mother whose husband (they were seperated at the time) kidnapped their two daughters and ended up taking them to Lebanon during the summer war with Israel in the summer of 2006. It was 6 months before she was actually re-united with her girls and it was two months after that that […] Read More
We were childless for five days (we shipped the kids off to various grandparents). It was wonderful. All families should do this. It’s good to remember what life was like with no kids. Although for us, the only other time we’ve had no kids (for more than a day) as a married couple was on our honeymoon (we were at the lake for a week). I think we should make […] Read More
I guess I should consider myself fortunate. I work for a company that invests into its employees. Our parent company values associate satisfaction, guest satisfaction (I work in a hotel) as well as making money. They focus on training and ensuring every employee has a quarterly review for feedback and discussion purposes. They really want to know how people are doing. Management is supportive of its leaders and associates. People […] Read More
So… I got this email from iTunes telling me about the 10K Human Race. Its a 10K race set up by Nike along with iPod that will be held in 25 cities across the globe on August 31 (but the website says you could race anywhere you are). Here comes the ingenious marketing: you can actually track your progress as you train and after the big race you can compare […] Read More
I am once again at peace with my hair. It took some drastic measures, but now all is well. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Prior to my transformation my hair was long and curly/wavy and entirely FRIZZY!!! Now that my hair has been chemically straightened, the frizz is gone and I am a happy woman. All I have to do now is throw […] Read More
