Another room down, one left to go

So… I have one month left until I go back to work (September 17 to be exact). Over the past month I have been trying to finish up some organizing projects so everything can be in order when I head back. Today I finished the boys’ toyroom. I even took pictures to document it. 🙂 When I took my boys down to the toyroom to see what it looks like […] Read More

Going away for a few days

Today I am off to the Partylite National Conference in Toronto. I fly out this afternoon and get back late late Saturday night. Leighton will be home with the boys and Lynae. I’m really looking forward to the conference. Anyone who sells Partylite and has gone to the annual conference before tells me that it’s an unbelievable experience and that it definitely boosts your business. Just by going to the […] Read More

Why I don’t like arts & crafts (or ‘farts & cramps’)

I do not consider myself a crafty person. For relaxation you would not find me ‘creating’ something using paper, scissors, glue. Ugh!!! I shudder at the thought. I have some ‘geeky scrapbooking friends’. I tried scrapbooking once and found myself overwhelmed and frustrated. They tell me I am a scrapbooker, I just do it on my computer (I create a calendar each year for family with pictures and captions). Ahh…but […] Read More

Adventure with the boys

Yesterday I went on an adventure with my boys (plus 2 others). We had tickets to go see Walking with Dinosaurs in Edmonton with family, but due to something unexpected coming up, we had to shift our plans. So I left around 8:30am yesterday morning with the car loaded up with David and Matthew plus 2 of their friends and headed off to Edmonton (hubby and the baby stayed at […] Read More

Keys to my survival

Getting Things Done At the thought of going back to work in two months, I immediately thought of “Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity” (don’t you love that title?). I’ve had this book sitting on my shelf, unfinished, for the past two years. I first heard about it when my husband visited an extremely busy pastor in Australia. This pastor swore by the system set up in this […] Read More

I survived the Great Purge of 2007

On Saturday, my hubby and I unpacked, purged, and sorted through the rest of our boxes from our move in October. I’ve heard of people who, a couple of years after their move, still hadn’t unpacked all their boxes. I did not want to be one of those people. I say I survived the Great Purge because working with my husband to sort and purge has the potential to really […] Read More

Summer Field Trips #1

Since I have the summer with my boys this year, I’m planning to take them on a number of field trips (I love going on field trips and exploring new places). This past week we explored the University. I’ve taken the kids there a few times before but they always love coming back. Their favorite part is the Geology building where the dinosaurs are. Here’s some pics:

Life at the lake

We just spent the last two weeks at the cabin at Chitek Lake. It was an awesome holiday! We had friends up one weekend and the rest of the time to ourselves. The weather was great; we spent a lot of time at the beach. Everyone had a good time. Here’s some pics:

Not much to say

June was a busy month with lots of field trips and stuff. It felt very full. Now I am spending some time relaxing (or getting there anyways).   The boys are done school and I’m enjoying time with them.  I don’t have an profound thoughts right now,  but maybe after a few days I will.
