“The very future of our country, and of our children and grandchildren, literally depends on whether we can preserve traditional marriage and the natural family in Canada.” – quote from Defend Marriage, Canada! Newsletter in reference to legislation legalizing same-sex marriages.
I am not in favor of same-sex marriages. But this quote stood out to me. Is this really a true statement? What does the future of our country truly depend on? Is it man’s actions? Or is it God’s divine power? Or is it a combination of the two?
A spiritual mother said to me the other day when she was over for a coffee, “That God will get done what he needs to get done. Sometimes he needs to go around us, or detour, but his way will prevail. With our obedience and submission, we are blessed in the process of His divine plan”
The whole same sex marriage thing seems overwhelming to me…we have to trust that God is soverign and in control. He does call us to pray and live a life of obedience to Him.
Hyperbole.
The future of our country depends on much more than allowing equal rights to all of its citizens. Health care, poverty, international relations, and cleaning up corruption in the government are just a few off the top of my head.
Becky, how do you carry all those things on top of your head?
