It’s a girl!

In case you haven’t heard already or haven’t read Leighton’s blog, we have a new baby girl!  Lynae Inara Tebay was born on Friday, November 17 at 5:35pm.  She was 9 lbs 13 oz at birth.  I gave Leighton quite the nasty look when I found out how big she was.  The ‘bigness’ genes do NOT run in my family line and Leighton was close to 9 lbs when he was born.

So, I have officially lost ‘the bet’.  The bet was that if the baby was born on or before 3 days after my due date, Leighton would win (mind you, with just 6 1/2 hours to spare).  He seemed to think that I was overly confident that this baby would be late and that I would have to be induced.  In his words, “Two instances (meaning David & Matthew’s births – both overdue and inductions) do not constitute a pattern.”  I have to admit I was saying all along that I would be late and have to be induced (which in fact is true).  However, this time, I started going into labour naturally (right on my due date), and only ended up having to be induced to finally get things rolling.  So I concede defeat.  I was wrong and my hubby was right.

  2. I’m with Becky and Holly, especially since all appearances indicate it’s all Leighton’s fault, even if he was right. She’s gorgeous by the way. I’m a little jealous. I love pink and I never get to buy any. Congratulations and many blessings on the precious little? one and her family.

  3. Congratulations, Carol! I did leave a congrats message on Leighton’s blog, but I’m not sure if he passed it on or not. Wow, a girl! She’s beautiful and what a pretty name. I was expecting it to be Rilla Joy (remember, Anne of Green Gables . . .) Anyways, I hope all went well with the labour and delivery process. I’m not sure about giving birth to an almost 10 lb. baby – you are amazing! I hope she brings you much joy and happiness. And even though Leighton won the bet (by just several hours), you DO deserve the spa day!
