#22: Creating our family calendar

Just about every year I put together a calendar of photos of our family. I really enjoy looking through the pictures from the past year and remembering those special moments. And then picking out which ones I will use for the upcoming calendar.

It used to be quite the production – I would print and bind the calendars myself (typically running out of printer ink halfway through and having to rush off to the store on Christmas eve). There were a few years when I custom made the calendars for each side of the family (with appropriate birthdays and anniversaries). And because I was working full tilt until just before Christmas it was usually put together at the last minute (THAT part was not very fun).

Last year I discovered Costco’s online calendar creator and that was fantastic. All I had to do was upload the photos and drag them into each month. I could even personalize with peoples’s birthdays, etc. After I had placed the order Costco called me when my order was ready to pick up and ‘voila!’, the calendars were done. I did the same thing today although I didn’t bother with the birthday personalization stuff (I’ll write it in myself, maybe with stickers). And only for $15 (including tax).

Awesome!
