#26: Listen to TED talks

Today was a pretty busy day and although I did get in my “Sunday soak” in the bathtub I didn’t have time for any new ‘fun’ things. But when everything was done for the day I sat down and took in a couple of TED talks. I love TED. I think it’s a great concept. Here’s a description from their website: “TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. […] Read More

#27: Flash Mob in a Mall

Today I participated in a flash mob that sang Christmas Carols in two Saskatoon malls. It was a lot of fun! I’ve never been in a flash mob before and if I have the opportunity I definitely will do it again. The CBC even posted about it on their live blog. #28: Coffee at Caffe Sola

Latte Cubano*… check Comfy spot… check Relaxing music in my earbuds… check A book to read… check Aahhhh… What a great way to end off my week. (*a latte Cubano is a coffee latte with brown sugar and cinnamon – one of my favorites) (Caffe Sola is the closest coffee shop to my house and my favorite coffee shop; www.caffesola.ca)

#29: Writing a poem

I love the written word. It amazes me how there are people who can paint incredible pictures with words. That’s one of the reasons I love J.R.R. Tolkien so much. He has created whole worlds with words, worlds that I can see and hear and just about touch. I think it is a special skill indeed. Two of my favourite quotes do just that: “May your life be like a […] Read More

#30: Hanging out with my hairdresser

Every 6 weeks or so I see my hairdresser…Jilla…she is awesome! She cuts my hair in a way that looks awesome and is easy to style. I have to color my hair each time or it would be very…very gray. And she puts the most awesome vibrant colors in my hair (my personal favorite is copper red – hey, if I have to color my hair I might as well […] Read More

#31: Taking in a public lecture, workshop, or talk

This may not sound like ‘fun’ to some people but the few times I have gone to something like this I have really enjoyed it.  Some of the things I have attended in the past are: Pooh Corner with my daughter (at the library), a half-day Introduction to Digital Photography course (through a groupon with Inspired Photography), and an evening of storytelling for adults (put on through the local library). […] Read More

#32: Relaxing to Christmas Music & Lights

Besides our Christmas tree I have a long strand of Christmas lights hanging on the walls of my living room. We keep them up (and on – they’re LED lights) for the Christmas season and I love the soft glow they create in our living room. After coming home from a busy day of traveling to several places I sat down on my couch and wondered what I would do […] Read More

#33: Dancing with my daughter (40 days of fun)

I love to dance. I never had the opportunity to take dance lessons as a child but if it had been possible I certainly would have done it. My daughter loves to dance. She was dancing before she could walk. I’m serious. She would stand and sway her hips and wave her arms in time to the music (without ever taking a step). She’s been taking dance lessons for a […] Read More

#34: A Day of Fun (40 days of fun)

I had all sorts of fun today.  I stayed in bed under the warm and cozy covers, read another chapter of my book, and watched the newest episodes of Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome. I had a great visit with someone I haven’t connected with in several years.  It was so good to ‘catch up’ on each others’ lives and I look forward to hanging out with her more.  I […] Read More
