Well, so much for getting anything done yesterday. Lynae didn’t sleep well the night before and continued that on into the daytime. Basically I spent my entire day ‘trying’ to catch up on lost sleep, with little success. It seemed every time I had just gotten to sleep, the baby would wake up. She finally crashed last night and slept well. So today is a new day and I am […] Read More
It’s been a little over 2 weeks since Lynae was born. On the advice of a friend and encouragement from my husband, I didn’t really do much for the first two weeks (other than stay on top of the laundry and make meals). I spent a lot of time feeding Lynae and sleeping.  It has been nice. I rather like sending the boys off to school and then heading back to bed for […] Read More
My husband has posted a rant on breastfeeding. Go check it out. (lol)
In case you haven’t heard already or haven’t read Leighton’s blog, we have a new baby girl! Lynae Inara Tebay was born on Friday, November 17 at 5:35pm. She was 9 lbs 13 oz at birth. I gave Leighton quite the nasty look when I found out how big she was. The ‘bigness’ genes do NOT run in my family line and Leighton was close to 9 lbs when he was born. I saw my doctor this evening and things have not progressed since this morning. I’m still 3 cm dilated. And now my contractions have stopped. I am completely discouraged. All these friends and relatives are anxiously awaiting this newborn (for some its the first biological grandchild) and my body doesn’t seem to want to work. I feel frustrated and depressed. And I feel pressure to hurry up and have this thing […] Read More
‘Erratic’ – that’s my word for today. I am having contractions (they started yesterday afternoon), but they’ve been quite erratic. Although they are doing something.  I saw my doctor this morning and I am 3 cm dilated, so there’s hope that maybe we will have a newborn by the end of today. It’s been a bit frustrating. Seeing as this is the first time I’ve gone into labour ‘naturally’, I’m […] Read More
So here I am, with all this time on my hands, and I haven’t blogged. This is the start of my third week home on maternity leave. No baby yet. Tomorrow is my ‘official’ due date. If I haven’t had the baby by 1 week past my due date, I’ll be induced. I’ve been spending my time leisurely unpacking and picking up things for our new home. Today I purchased […] Read More
This week was the first week of my mat leave (well, sort of, I’ve got 2 weeks of holidays/days owed, so ‘technically’ my mat leave does not start until November 13). It was a good week, though still fairly busy. We transitioned the boys to a new school (we had promised them they could stay at their old school until the end of October). There were farewell parties at the […] Read More
I’m sitting in the veranda of our new home in the ‘blogging chair’ (my husband’s name for it). It’s a nice spot. It’s separated from the rest of the house by french doors and there’s lots of windows looking out on three different sides. The house wouldn’t have been my first choice (it’s old and has lots of wood on the walls), but it grows on me more and more each […] Read More
…in more ways than one.  Today we took possession of our new home. We’ve got most of the packing done – there’s boxes everywhere. Who knew we had this much stuff lurking in our home?? This Saturday will be moving day. So the end is near for the packing end of things – unpacking will just be starting after this weekend. As of October 28, I will be off work […] Read More
